SharePoint in plain English
Commoncraft have been at it again with their Plain English way of explaining technology. And this time it's SharePoint that gets the 3 minute treatment, on behalf of Microsoft:
For those thinking 'I can't do this in my SharePoint deployment', (true for at least one example) note the version of SharePoint in the video... :-)
On a side note, I found this video via friend and ex-colleague Steve Clayton - visit the post here. Ironically, visiting the site highlighted the challenge Microsoft still faces on the Internet. Steve quite rightly embedded the Microsoft video. But that video didn't play 'cos I haven't installed Silverlight yet on my new computer. (Yes, Flash already made it on because most main web sites use it, only one main web site uses Silverlight.) Clicked on the link to visit the site, but was taken to a login screen. 'There has to be an easier way' I muttered to myself, 'bet the video is on YouTube'. And sure enough, embedded above. And who owns YouTube? Microsoft has got to stop making it so damn difficult and/or frustrating to use their online technology...
