Ever decreasing circles

When tracking trends, the most common graph is one showing change speeding up, usually exponentially.

There was an interesting post defining the third age of computing, by Rich Skrenka:

• IBM: 1950 - 1980
• Microsoft: 1984 - 1998
• Google: 2001 -

Hmmm, IBM had 30 years, Microsoft had 14 years... if the trend continues, that means Google should have a grand total of 7 years at the top. Soooo, who takes over by 2010?
